Interstate Celebrates Six Decades in the Carolinas
One would have to attribute the resiliency of the staff of Interstate
Equipment Co. for its ability to celebrate its 60th anniversary.
One of the few remaining independently-owned dealers left in its
region of the country, the Statesville, N.C.-based company has relied on
its veteran crew as new products have lined its equipment yards over the
years.
It’s the love of what they do and the personal connections they build
with their customers that keep machines rolling out of the door.
Interstate was founded in 1946 in a barn in Statesville by Kyle Eller
Sr., the father of the company’s current president, Frank Eller. The
founder had some heavy equipment experience before he went out on
his own, working the Charlotte territory for the Raleigh-based North
Carolina Equipment Company as a salesman. But in 1946, Kyle Eller
decided to go out on his own, representing equipment from Telsmith,
ESCO and Buckeye for the entire state of North Carolina. |
